Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers by role, from the cage window to the accounting close, on how Insight Cash changes the daily work.

1

Cage Staff

QHow does Insight Cash make my shift close faster?

Insight Cash tracks your expected check-in amount instead of you calculating your ending bank from paper slips and separate systems. When you’re ready to close, the system already knows your expected amount, so you’re counting and confirming, not reconstructing your shift by hand.

QWhat happens if I have a variance when I close?

Insight Cash shows your variance in real time as you count, so you can recount before submitting. Your property’s thresholds apply automatically: minor variances get noted, larger ones require a note and supervisor approval before the shift closes, the same process, without the paper trail.

QDoes this mean I don’t have to deal with paperwork anymore?

You’ll still have physical backup for table fills, drop receipts, and signed jackpot slips, which originate outside the system. Everything else you enter, jackpots, tickets, cash advances, is logged digitally with a timestamp, so there’s no re-writing totals or hunting down signatures.

QDoes Insight Cash handle accountability correctly when cashiers work multiple windows or stations in a single shift?

Yes. Insight Cash tracks accountability correctly no matter how cashiers move between windows or stations during a shift, so switching locations never creates a reconciliation gap.

Vault Staff

QDoes Insight Cash fix having to re-enter totals cashiers and soft count already recorded?

Yes. Data that cashiers and the count team already entered flows automatically into your view, so you’re confirming, not retyping. Count Team transactions can also use blind count, populating totals only once they match, protecting your team from mishandling accusations.

QCan Insight Cash handle shared accountability across multiple vault locations?

Yes. Insight Cash configures to your property’s vault structure, including multiple locations and shared accountability arrangements. Variance attribution and imprest enforcement follow your property’s configuration, so the system accommodates how your team operates.

QHow does Insight Cash remove the paper verification and buy/sell bottlenecks at our window and vault?

Insight Cash removes both. Verification happens digitally instead of a physical sign-off, so money moves to the main bank once counted, no waiting on vault staff. Buy/sells disappear entirely, driving shorter lines and fewer back-of-house bottlenecks at shift change.

Revenue Audit Staff

QMy mornings are spent building spreadsheets before I can even start auditing. Does Insight Cash change that?

Yes. Transaction data pulls in automatically from every connected source and sits side by side in one platform, instead of you manually pulling and retyping it from disconnected systems. You start the day auditing by flagged issue, reviewing what doesn’t match.

QHow does Insight Cash help me find where a variance came from?

Because all connected data lives in one platform, a flag shows exactly when and where a variance occurred, instead of cross-referencing paperwork weeks later. Jackpot reconciliation, for example, flags only mismatches, cutting review from hundreds of records to a handful.

QWe’re always behind on daily audits and scrambling at month-end. Will this fix that?

Properties on Insight Cash typically finalize and lock the prior day’s activity by the next day, compared to a week or more manually. It also removes manual journal entry compilation, saving more time and eliminating the month-end scramble.

QWhat tools do auditors rely on day to day inside Insight Cash?

Three tools: system audit reports by function (jackpots, kiosks, F&B, and more), comparing entered data to source systems; the Daily Activity Report, covering full-day activity across every connected system; and Revenue Audit Task & Exception Management, assigning audits and giving managers a view of workload, status, and anything past due, replacing spreadsheets.

Accounting Staff

QYou said the system can book my journal entries for me. How does that work?

Once revenue audit is complete, a user with permission locks the game day, then exports a report formatted to book directly into your GL software. That export, and depending on your system, the GL upload too, can be automated.

QHow configurable is the software to account for my different GL account types?

It’s fully configurable to your GL account names and account numbers.

QAre journal entries booked automatically?

Booking requires someone with the appropriate permissions in Insight Cash, so you can review everything before it posts.

QOnce my journal entries are booked, can changes still be made, and can a game day be unlocked?

Yes, by users with permission to unlock the game day and adjust the necessary transactions. A new Daily Activity Report can then be exported and rebooked to your accounting platform.

Compliance Staff

QIf cage personnel aren’t signing pieces of paper, how do I ensure the right people signed for a transaction?

Every change of accountability requires at least two electronic signatures and generates an electronic document with those signatures, a timestamp, and the who, what, and when of the transaction, all instantly accessible without digging through paperwork.

QHow do I verify a user’s signature?

A built-in signature audit tool automatically compares each signature against that staff member’s recent signatures. Mismatches get flagged for compliance to review and take corrective action.

QCan the software adhere to my internal controls by transaction type?

The platform is highly configurable to your existing controls, and CCT helps recommend best practices for structuring them. For example, transactions over a set threshold can require a second approval signature before moving forward.
